TCS Webmail is an email service supported by Tata Consultancy Services for its employees around the globe. This has helped the company to bring all employees under one roof. It has put in place various tools for the ease of accessing the mail in and out of the premise. Here is a quick guide on how to use the mail, features and technologies incorporated in the service.

Accessing Your Mails

If you are within your premises, you will access the mails directly through your admin-configured outlook from webmail.tcs.com. However, for the sake of security, they moved their mails behind a VPN. This makes it hard for anyone to configure their personal computers to receive office emails from home. While this adds to the security of the system, it also means that employees can only get their email when at the workplace, which is inconveniencing.

The company found a workaround for this problem by joining forces with Citrix. Citrix is one of the methods that offers a secure environment for accessing your mail, independent of any other applications that your device could be running. Therefore, to access the mail, you must install the Citrix app on your mobile or PC. This app is available in different platforms' app stores. The workspace all allows employees to access several other virtual applications to complete tasks on their devices.

Here are steps to install and use the app

  1. Visit, your device's app store and look for the Citrix app.
  2. Install the app on your device by clicking the installation link.
  3. Open the app with your device and open the www.myapp.tcs.com link inside the app. The link takes you to the Netscaler Gateway, where you gain direct access to your emails.
  4. You will be asked to provide your credentials when you log into the link.
  5. After a successful login, you can now get all your webmail emails.
  6. You can now sync your office outlook to your device and receive TCS mails at any point around the world.

Recovering Your Webmail Account

If you forgot your credentials or updated them and now cannot access your webmail, you can recover your login details via the TCS Ultimax ERP tool. Here is how to go about it.

  1. Start by opening the TCS Ultimax ERP tool using the search bars located in your webmail apparatus.
  2. Scroll the login page until you reach 'Forgot username/ password link.
  3. Tap the link.
  4. The tool will take you through a few steps to ascertain if the account is really yours.
  5. Once you have completed the procedure, you will be asked to create a new password for your username. The password will be updated across all devices that you use to access your webmail.

How Do You Add Attachments to Your Emails on TCS?

  1. Start opening the compose button or replay if replying to a mail that was sent to you earlier.
  2. Locate the + icon at the side of email.
  3. Tap to the link that tells you to attach an attachment.
  4. The application takes you to a dialogue box which tells you to locate the attachment you want to send.
  5. This application usually shows you the regularly used folders for easy locating of the attachment.
  6. Once you have found your attachment click OK for it to be attached to your email.
  7. The email will show that that the attachment has been added to your email.
  8. If you have several attachments that you would like to send, use the icon Attach to add other documents.
  9. Once done, check if you wrote the email correctly and then click send.

TCS webmail provides you with tools to reply and forward your email to other recipients.

How to Add Microsoft Outlook to the Webmail

You can access your mailbox to the Microsoft Outlook using IMAP. Outlook has an easy-to-use design and incorporates all the required features. Here is how to connect the two.

  1. Head to your Outlook program on your computer.
  2. Select 'Account Information screen and select 'Accounts Settings' from the drop-down menu.
  3. Then, locate the email tab and click 'New' button.
  4. Then, enter your email address and click 'Connect'.
  5. Outlook will configure your mailbox automatically in a few seconds.
  6. Once the process is complete, click 'Done'.
  7. Your mailbox will appear in the folder pane of your Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft will also send you a test mail to confirm successful integration.

You can use any of the methods such as Outlook, webmail application or Citrix to access your email.
