However, if you are on a desktop, then any browser will do just fine. You must then sign up using your email address.
The webex team will send you an email verifying successful registration. After that initial phase, you will then access the app, and you will see an icon called `personal room.’ This is where you will schedule meetings and generate links for joining a meeting you are hosting. These are the same links you will send out to anyone who wants or is supposed to join the meeting.
Additionally, you can customize how others see you. Upon clicking on the circle with your name initials, you will see an icon written `change.’ Click the icon and upload a photo of yourself; you are all set to host a meeting.
If you are responsible for holding regular meetings on webex, it is best to use the desktop application rather than the web version. Kindly advise the attendees to download the app for optimal user experience. Upon downloading, the webex app will launch and immediately, your camera will display its view.
This will allow you to prep yourself appropriately for a video meeting or perhaps reposition your camera to a suitable angle. Also, right there on the panel, you will find two icons; the toggle audio/video on and off. If the icons are black, they are active and ready, but they are muted or inactive if they are red with an X.
It is located on the panel page at the lowest part. It contains a menu that allows you to organize the video, sound, and several other settings. If everything is alright, hit the `start meeting’ button that is greens.
As the host, you will decide how the meeting will be conducted. You will see all the participants on the right side of the page, and you will have a menu of controls located at the bottom.
Through this menu, you can control who in your audience has their audio and video feed on. It also has a record button that helps you record the meeting for future references.
Inviting a person is pretty simple. Go to the settings menu and choose `invite a participant.’ Upon selection, a panel will pop up, you will be prompted to enter a recipient’s e email address, and webex will send them a link with a short message.
Upon completion of your session, as the host hit the red circle with an X, this will disconnect everyone in the meeting and end the session. However, if you want to leave and the meeting to still resume without you, simply select the `leave meeting’ option.
